THE STEPS FOR STARTING AN ARC WELDING BUSINESS
There are times when the economics of a country falling down temporary. When that time comes, many people have had their hours cut or have been laid off while their bills are starting to pile up. It may be time to bite the bullet and start a welding business and put your gas welder to work. Try to pick up some work from machines. Separate yourself from the rest of the pack looking for extra work and try attaching your business card in every place you visit.
But first, make sure you know your stuff. Don’t quit your day job just because you don’t know how to weld diamond plate or cans or run uniform beads. Just simply spend some time practicing before jumping into a business venture. Set a minimum price afterwards. Even for a five minute job, you might want set it up to forty five bucks. The purpose of doing this is to cut out the freebie jobs everyone thinks you should do just because you have gas welder equipment.
There are a few advantages with outsourcing to machine shops. They supply the labor for machining and buy the material. All you have to do is get the parts, put them together and do the welding. So, take your time and be patience. Don’t hesitate to pick up a few jobs. Do some marketing research or even buy some magazines about machinery. Get to know people and it will eventually pay off. One last thing, try to enjoy your job and keep your spirit up.
